My Topless Model
Get your minds out of the gutter people!
I'm talking about a 9 month old baby for crying out loud!
Geesh!
So, as promised, here is Cooper's modeling debut:
Try not to hate me and my super model self, super model baby, and free all expenses paid vacations... I know it's hard... but try ;)

So, as promised, here is Cooper's modeling debut:
**All photos taken by Fon Sakulsurarat at Kurt Brownell Studio.
Ties available at Fahsye.**
I know I'm his mother, but don't you just want to squeeze him? It's the chubby cheekers. Love this little meatball!
Smile kids, tomorrow is Friday! I'll be smiling EXTRA BIG because I'm leaving at 7am for MEXICO!

I'm a Super Model
Okay, well not quite...
BUUUUUUT....
On Monday I teamed up with Sarah Griffith of Simply Sarah to model for Fahsye's next ad campaign! We had so much fun! Sarah and I hit it off instantly! Fon (photographer and owner of Fahsye) was a joy to work with and Kurt Brownell's studio was fantastic.
Not only did I get to experience life in front of the camera, but Cooper made his modeling debut as well... only unlike his mommy, he posed topless.
And so you have something to look forward to, I'll be posting those pics tomorrow.
Smile, you're half way to the weekend. :)

I can definitely get used to this whole modeling thing! Need a fashion blogger model? I'm your girl. Feel free to pay me in shoes ;)
Here are some of my favorite pictures from the shoot:

On Moolah, Mice, and Modeling
In case you haven't heard, it's Stuff and Save time at Old Navy.
So I got a few things for myself...
By a few things I mean 11 shirts, a belt, and a pair of shorts...
So I got a few things for myself...
By a few things I mean 11 shirts, a belt, and a pair of shorts...
I even picked up a few things for Colt:
If I paid retail, it would have cost $331.92 plus tax.
If you know me, you know I don't pay retail.
I paid $101.58 plus tax.
Jack. Pot.
Not bad for a Monday.
Hope your Monday was as fabulous as mine was. Not only did I score at Old Navy, but Cooper and I had our modeling debut, I got to meet the lovely Sarah of Simply Sarah (at aforementioned photo shoot) and came home to a mouse eating a lollipop in my driveway.
Good times. Good times.
Stay tuned for more on today's photo shoot...
Have a great week!

Ugly Friends
I need some ugly friends.
I have the unfortunate habit of befriending gorgeous girls with hot bodies who win all-inlcusive vacations and take me with them. Why does my life have to be so haaaaaard? ;)
I know, I know. SHUT UP!
Seriously though, no one wants to be the schlumpy friend. And even though I'm super excited for my trip, but I can't help but be a little panicked about having to be in a bathing suit next to this girl:

Seriously though, no one wants to be the schlumpy friend. And even though I'm super excited for my trip, but I can't help but be a little panicked about having to be in a bathing suit next to this girl:
Oh yes, people I have to disrobe next to THAT. Even though I don't anticipate receiving any offers to be the next 800lb lady at the circus, let's just say that after two children my abs sure as hell don't look like that. Not. Even. Close. I'm actually not even sure I have abs anymore. Perhaps I gave birth to them too... Hmmm, something to look in to...
In any event, I've been trying to find a bathing suit that reads "I gave birth nine months ago" across the tush, but haven't had any luck. Maybe I should just get a cute coverup, or find some fat ugly people to sit next to so I look good... It's all relative people, all relative.
Abs or no, one week from today I'll be sipping a pina colada under a palm tree in Mexico with one of my best friends in the whole world. So what if she makes me look like a schlump? As I've been known to say: "Don't like it, don't look."

Booze Won
Tonight I was faced with a tough decision: blogging or booze.
Booze won.
So instead of writing, I'll be drinking these with my girlfriends:
Sorry!
Smell you later!

Mini Cooper
I bought this onesie as soon as I found out we were having another boy (we already had the name Cooper picked out). Now, a year later, I finally got it on the little beastie and snapped a few pics.
For your viewing pleasure: my mini Cooper wearing his mini cooper.

Smile! Tomorrow is Friday!

PS- I totally tried to crop out the major crotch grab going on in every photo. Good times. Good times.

Date Night Closet Remix
You don't need to break the bank to ramp up your date night wardrobe. Chances are, there are some pretty fabulous pieces already in your closet. I love mixing old pieces to create something new. I bought this skirt two years ago to wear to a baby shower and art show. I paired it with heeled sandals, a tank, and black wooden jewelry.
Fast forward to last night: Dado Fashion Show...
I took the same skirt and put on a long sleeve Express crew neck tee and bright Hue tights to create a whole new look. I added some vintage jewelry, my new Buffalo motorcycle jacket, a Kate Spade bag and my favorite Nine West peep toe booties. Voila! Now I've got a fall look that's a little edgy, a little fun, and a bold pop of color to boot! The only new items (bought this season) were the tights and the jacket. So for around $100, I completely updated my date night wardrobe.
What do you think? Suitable for a night out on the town? Or should this ensemble have stayed in the back of my closet?
What's your go-to date night look?

My First Blate!
Despite my husband's fears that she could be a serial killer posing as an adorable blogger, I had my first official "blate" (blogger + date) with Alix of Traffic Jelly! She is even more fabulous and beautiful in person than she is in print! And she didn't try to lure me into a secluded area to kidnap and eventually murder me! Not even once! ;)
We met for a shopping date, that turned into a coffee date after we found ourselves just standing in the middle of J.Crew chatting. A few hours and chocolate chip cookies later, it was as if we had been friends forever.
You would think with both of us being bloggers that one of us would have thought to take some pictures for our inevitable posting about our meeting. You would be wrong. We were too busy flapping our gums to think about how our blog posts would suffer from our lack of photos. Ooops! We'll have to take a bunch the next time to make up for it.
This definitely won't be the last time we get together. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I mean how could two Rhett Butler - loving, English-teaching, JCrew-shopping, coffee-drinking, stage-acting, look-alikes not hit it off? That would just be ridiculous!
To seal the deal, my new, sweet friend hands me a gift bag as we were leaving. I open it to find a beautiful Turkish coffee cup and saucer. She proceeds to tell me that "you only drink Turkish coffee with people you wish to be friends with for the next forty years." I tried not to cry, gave her a big hug, and thought about what I shmuck I was for not being as thoughtful and sweet as she is.
Looks like I hit the blogger friend lottery. Care to meet her? She can be found right here.
Here's to the next forty years, babe!
xoxo

Rock Out With Your Hat Out
Happy Weekend!
Thanks to all the lovely ladies who linked up for my first ever Bloggers with Balls link up party! You ladies rock! I love seeing how everyone adds their own personal style to common pieces. Which brings me to the premise for today's link up: hats. I love hats. Knit hats, cowboys hats, baseball caps, wide-brimmed, vintage - I love 'em all.
One of the best things about temperatures turning a little chilly is that I can break out my knits. I'm not sure if it's the throw back to early 90s grunge or the fact that they can hide even the worst of hair days, but either way, they are a staple in my fall/winter wardrobe.
Here are some ways I've worn mine this season:
As a Pop of Color Hat: Forever 21 |
With Shades |
With faux leather Buffalo jacket, Christian Dior frames, and my Jane Eyre scarf. Hat: GAP |
Link up and "Rock Out With Your Hat Out!"
(I know that's not grammatically correct - just go with it).

Corduroy and Jane Austen
As promised, here is the skinny on what I wore for my Sweet Pickle family photo shoot.
I almost wore this corduroy dress, and am so glad I opted for a more casual, every day look instead. This is me. This is what I look like 98% of the time. Skinnies, riding boots, comfy knits - it's what you'll find me in at Wegmans or dropping Colt off at preschool. (My hair just probably won't look this good.) Ha!
So I now I need some help from you. Which one should be my new blog button? (Once I figure out how to make a blog button...) Decisions, decisions...
Love you like a fat kid loves cake,
xoxo

Had to wear my Jane Austen t-shirt from Brookish. I love it almost as much as I love Mr. Darcy. |
I love this necklace. It's called the Mother's Love necklace and is by local Rochester jewelry designer Sarah Khaled of Artwark. Each one is custom made. I get compliments on mine ALL the time. So much so, that I've started carrying around her business card. Hey, it's much better than me saying: "It's artwark - like artwork, but with an "a." |
Brookish tee, Sparrow cardigan via anthropologie, Pilcro corduroy skinnies via anthropologie, Fabianelli riding boots via Marshalls (the most wonderful, comfortable boots I have every owned) |
I got these earrings at a yard sale about ten years ago for $0.25. If I ever lose them it would be completely tragic. I feel like they are a part of me now. |
These bracelets were yard sale finds too. One. Dollar. I'm also wearing my go-to Michael Kors watch. |
Did I mention I love these boots? Because I do. A lot. |
