It's Friday!

Don't get me wrong, I love my kiddos, but when it's Fashion Week of Rochester and I could be sitting in a VIP seat at the fashion show at Culver Road Armory and hobknobbing with Rochester's finest at the after party at TRATA, let's just say it makes it tough to sit at my kitchen table in my jammies because I couldn't find a babysitter.  How's that for a run-on sentence?  You know what, I don't even care.

Since I'm not out being fabulous but facebooking instead, I figured I might as well do the outfit post I've been putting off since Sunday.  Hey, I've been working on my Fall Trend Watch for Rochester A-List all week.  Make sure you check it out.

Well without further ado, some fall fashion from yours truly.  #OOTDLS (Outfit of the Day Last Sunday) featuring top and sweater from Anthropologie, Fabianelli boots, a.n.a. jeans via JCPenney, J.CREW necklace via ebay, Michael Kors watch and earrings from a boutique in St. Augustine whose name is escaping me.  Enjoy!

This is my idea of "getting creative" with my hair.
I tied it in a knot and secured it with two bobby pins.
I'm not sure why I look like a linebacker.
My shoulders are 6 ft wide I swear.
Those are Fabianelli boots from Marshall's.
By far my best purchase in years - soft Italian leather...
They are like wearing slippers! Love, love, love!
This is me telling my husband to get over here
and take my picture already because the baby is crying.
I'm mostly a nice wife I swear.
And the awkward photo shoot begins...
This is me trying something different...
Like the head tilt and hand on hip pose...
Oh wait...
Maybe I should just stand here...
With my hands in my pockets...
In crappy lighting...
Outside my garage...

Maybe I should just start taking pictures of my clothes on hangers... or laid out neatly on my bed...

Something to think about.

In the meantime, I'll give you something to think about:  what's your favorite thing about fall?  Are you psyched for layering weather?  I'm psyched for hot apple cider, riding boots, and pumpkin EVERYTHING.

Okay kids, I'm peacing out - have family photos in the morning and have no idea what any of us are wearing... funny considering what I do... #irony

Nigh night lovelies!

xoxo

Don't Miss Out

I'm doing a series on Flower City Fashion (the local arm of this blog) on fall trends all this week.

Here is what you've missed:

Sequins and Leather
Riding Boots
Wear With Anything Leather Bag

Check it out and let me know what you think!

I've had a blast working as Fashion Contributor for Rochester A-List and CAN NOT WAIT for the Fashion Week of Rochester Boutique Crawl tomorrow night.  Five hours shopping in a limo.  Oh. Baby.  Say a prayer for my husband.  Or better yet say one for me when next month's credit card bill hits...

Night night lovelies!

The Answer

Yesterday, I posted this picture to see if you could tell whose sunglasses were a Gucci splurge and who got a steal at Forever 21:

If you guessed that I am broke and a joke and only spend $3 on my sunglasses then you guessed correctly.

Thanks for playing!

Wish we could chat more, but I'm busy gearing up for Fashion Week of Rochester.

Hope you're weekend has been fabulous!

Love ya!

Smooches!

Guess Who

Pictured below are two college BFFs.
One girl is wearing Gucci sunglasses valued at $465.
The other girl is wearing $3 sunglasses from Forever 21.
Can you tell who splurged and who got a steal?

Have a great weekend.

How Do You Mu?

Last night I went to TRATA for the launch party of Mu, LiDestri's latest line of cafe-inspired cocktails.  Coffee break meets happy hour?  Yes, please! I got to taste all three flavors:  Vanilla Latte, Coco Cappucino, and Chocolate Chai - all were DE-LICIOUS!  I even had a Mu-tini complete with marshmallow garnish.   Yum-o!  Rochester A-List did a phenomenal job with the event, there was schmoozing and boozing (two of my favorite things!)  and who doesn't love a swag bag?

Truffles, Pink Limoncello, coasters, coupons, recipes, a magnet and
postcards (one of which says "I would like an iced coco cappuccino with a side of Bradley Cooper")
Love that!

Since outfit posts are a big hit around here, I tried to get a photo for you.  However, this is what happened when I attempted to have my mother (who was babysitting) take an outfit photo for the blog:
Tada!

So I decided to take a picture of myself in the car instead...

But, all I could get was my head...

You can see the full look here, where I'm posing with the models who were dressed up as the various Mu cocktail flavors.  Aren't they gorgeous?!

I'm wearing Guess shoes, a.n.a jeans via JCPenney, Express tank,
Forever 21 blouse, H&M necklace, and Banana Republic earrings.

It was a wonderful night, spent chatting with great people, and getting to be one of the first to try some fabulous new cocktails.  Mu will definitely be making an appearance the next time I host a Mom's Night Out.  Looks like they landed a new customer!

Cheers!

Fright Night

And no, I'm not talking about the approach of Halloween.  I'm talking about my evening beauty regimen.  Okay, maybe regimen isn't the right word, considering I can't remember the last time I used a deep cleaning mask, which may or may not be the reason my skin is breaking out worse than a PMSing 14-year-old the night before cheerleading tryouts.  So, I decided to finally use that sample of Origins Clear Improvement active charcoal mask that's been hanging out in my medicine cabinet for the last six months.

Last night, I opened my pores, slathered it on, and allowed it to dry.  My poor husband unknowingly walked in on this lovely display:

I'm not naked I swear.
And gasped in horror.

After assuring him it would wash off, I showed him this collage I made for the blog:

His response:  "You sure you want to do that to yourself?"

Me:  "Are you kidding?  This is top notch blog material!"

The verdict:  My skin (whilst still pimple ridden) feels much cleaner and smoother, not to mention that I sure did look purty with it on.  And yes, I'm wearing a hot pink turbie towel...what of it?

Hope your Wednesday is wonderful and your pores are clear!

xoxo

Jenny

PS- Thanks to amazon, you too, can look like me.  Because, honestly, who wouldn't want to give this look a try?  I hear it's all over the runways this fall. ;)

Attention Rochester business owners and local designers:

As my readership grows, I am being contacted by more and more brands for advertising on my blog. (I just partnered with Vera Bradley and Starbucks). Weekend Wrap Up

I had quite the productive weekend:
  • Finished up my yard sale with total profit:  $501.00 (not too shabby).  Now I can pay for the gorgeous pair of Italian leather boots I couldn't resist at Marshall's last week.  The leather is LIKE BUTTER.  Pure.  Heaven.
  • Donated unsold knickknacks and clothing to Good Will.
  • Organized left over baby stuff to put on Craigslist, consign, or gift.
  • Read Lost Along The Way in a 24 hour period.  My Pride and Prejudice fans out there:  YOU HAVE TO READ IT!
  • Performed fall clean up of front yard.
  • Colt had his first day of swimming lessons and his first time in Sunday School (as opposed to nursery).  When did he grow up?
  • Had a girls night out on Saturday and tried TRATA.  Loved the atmosphere!
  • Erected play yard for Cooper in family room.  It is my hope that I might be able to empty the dishwasher or poop uninterrupted.  Hey, a girl can dream.
  • And last but certainly not least - I got BOTH boys in bed by 8pm last night.  (Those of you whose children go to bed at 7pm might not understand the momentousness of this occasion - but I assure you that when your beasties are usually up til after 9:00, 8pm is GLORIOUS!
As for today:
  • Cooper is 8 months old.  Wow!
  • I've already blogged!   Go me!  Great giveaway up on my sister blog Flower City Fashion for all my local Rochester gals.
Let's hope this is a sign that this is going to be a productive week.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Tomorrow We Ride

Or maybe we just sell all the crap that's in my garage...

yeah...
Those are called cassette tapes kids...
And yes, I was that cool.
Garage Salenista
Who wants to buy my shoes?

Busy day... anticipating a busy one tomorrow.  Where I live, Thursdays are the big garage sale days (I guess no one works around here) <---- says the girl who doesn't work either.  Ha!  I anticipate the crazies lining up at 8:30 since I advertised that the sale begins at 9:00.

Wish me luck!

I'm off to bed.

First Day of Preschool

Colten's first day of preschool was yesterday.  I tried to get him in a cute little preppy outfit, but at three, he is already too cool to get dressed up for the first day of school.  He ended up in his favorite hot dog t-shirt, jeans, and a hoodie.  I can't get over how grown up he looked.  It's like having a three foot tall teenager.
We're also too cool to have our picture taken.

The crew!  I am aware that I look like a complete dork in this picture.  Durrrr!
And since inquiring minds like to know, I'm wearing my favorite a.n.a skinny jeans from JCPenney, nine west flats, H&M sweater, Silpada necklace, Forever 21 sunglasses and Artwark earrings.

Hope your school year is off to a great start too.

Friday Night Lights

In case you haven't heard, I'm married to a football coach.  This means I am essentially a single mom in the fall.  A football widow if you will.  Tonight I'm packing up the kids and the in-laws to go watch this guy coach:

He's handsome isn't he?
This was my view from the bleachers last week:

Doesn't get much better than that.

Well maybe...

Cuz this guy is pretty cool too...
Have a great weekend kiddos!  Hope you get in some football time of your very own.

xoxo
