Joe Fresh at JCP Makes Me Happy

Let's take a moment to discuss how excited I was to stumble upon Joe Fresh at JCPenney the other day...

I was literally take my breath away excited.

Just this past summer, my best friend and I spent the better part of a day scouring Manhattan for a certain v-neck Joe Fresh t-shirt (that could only be bought at Joe Fresh stores) only to find them sold out at all Manhattan locations.  Major.  Bummer. (And Major Blisters!)

You can imagine my pure elation when, eight months later, I find this elusive t-shirt at my local JCPenney store of all places.  

It took everything in me not to buy it in every color.  I kept myself under control and grabbed white and navy (I already own gray and coral) and snuck in a pair of mint zip ankle pants for good measure.  

It was a good day.  A really good day.

Last Saturday (unlike today) it was actually warm enough to wear them.  

Here is what I wore:

and the best t-shirt ever:  Joe Fresh V-neck

A Girl Can Never Have Too Many Shoes

True Story.

I did a cursory assessment of my shoe collection and eyeballed about 75 pairs.  And you know what?  I want more.  I could never have enough shoes.

Here are eight styles I'm wanting and you'll be seeing (and hopefully wearing) this fall:

1.  Platform Loafers

Nine West.  Love these.
Would look adorable with wide leg jeans or paired with a dress/skirt and dark tights or socks.

2.  Ankle Wedges

Suede.  J.Crew.  Yes, please.

3.  Stacked Heel Boots

Tory Burch.  The leather is like butter.  Delicious.
Now, who wants to give me $550?  Anybody?  Anybody?

4.  Pointy Ankle Boots

These Christian Louboutins make me salivate.  

Sadly instead of buying these, I'll be replacing my oven.  Damn.

5.  Flat Ankle Boots

Love these from Zara (probably because they look like a mini version of my favorite pair of riding boots).
Either way they are adorable and under $100.

6.  Slingback Bow Pumps

Just bought these Mootsies Tootsies slingbacks for $39.95 at DSW to wear to my friend's wedding next weekend.

7.  Flat Knee High Boots

This type of boot is my go-to shoe for fall.  I fell in love with these Steve Maddens at DSW.
Once I find some cute maternity skinny jeans, they are mine.

8.  Pointy Flats

Love these by Elizabeth and James.  The pointy toe elongates the leg and looks adorable with anything.

I could go on and on but I think eight is enough.  Wasn't that a tv show?   I digress.

No Rain Day 2!

I woke up to sunshine for the second day in a row.  If you happen to live in a climate where seeing the sun is a regular occurrence, consider yourself lucky!  I'm so sick of dressing for crappy weather, so today I was thrilled to not only see sunshine, but also hear that we would hit 60 degrees by this afternoon.  Wooo hooo!  Enter: Louis Vuitton ballet flats.

I love my LV flats, sadly they do not get worn nearly enough.  I attribute this to three things.
1.  The weather often does not cooperate.
2.  While adorable, they are not the most comfortable shoes in the world.
3.  They are not exactly conducive to playgrounds and other places I find myself as the mother of a very active two year old boy.

However today was the perfect storm:  sunshine, limited walking on the agenda, and the grandparents visiting from NJ.  What do grandparents have to do with my shoe selection?  Allow me to explain.  When the grandparents are here, I get a break.  Today I was able to go to the chiropractor, Michael's (for a "choo choo train" cake pan) and Wegmans ALL BY MYSELF.  It was glorious!

And here is a little story about the necklace I am wearing:

It is a gold pendant with the image of Putto's Kiss by E. M. Munier (one of my favorite paintings) on the front and the quote "There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved" by George Sand on the back.  My Aunt Carrie gave this to me as a wedding gift because this is what my wedding invitations looked like:

Great gift huh?  I wear it all the time; I've been married almost four years now and have yet to see one like it!  Thanks, Aunt Carrie!  You rock!
