Two for Tuesday: Polka Dots and Animal Spots

Think you can pair animal prints with polka dots and not look like the crazy cat lady?

I'm about to tell you that you can.

I say, rock those polka dots and animal spots.  I also say thank God for Hilary Rushford and #stylemeoctober.  How did I ever get dressed all by myself?

Todays look:
Earrings: c/o Aldo
Sweater:  Kmart
Necklace:  Claire Flair
Bracelets:  Stella and Dot, JCrew, Jewelry by Lindsay, and thrifted
Watch:  Michael Kors
Jeans:  Forever 21
Shoes:  GAP
Nail Decals:  Forever 21 (peeled right off - I recommend Sephora brand instead)
Want to know the best part about this outfit?  Total cost (not including jewelry) =  $33.00!!!  People, I am rounding up!  I paid $18 for the sweater, $8 for the jeans, and $7 for the shoes.

Let me teach you my ways.  Hire me as your personal shopper.

How do you feel about mixing animal prints and polka dots?  Cute? Or Ca-razy?  You don't need to tell me how you feel about a $33 outfit - I know you love it ;).

xoxo

Foxy Lady

Wish you had an endless shopping budget?  Dreaming of the day you can update your wardrobe each season without a care in the world, try the latest trends without looking at price tags, and rock your spanking-new clothes like a boss?

Me too!

As nice as all of that would be, rest assured:  you don't have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks.  Now, it does requires some hunting and a keen eye, but you can update your wardrobe without breaking the bank if you know how to "go cheap" without looking cheap.

Take this outfit for example:

Outfit Breakdown:

Fox Sweater:  Old Navy (bought on sale last year for about $15)
Shopping tip:  Wait til Oct 3 for Stuff &  Save and snag their current fox design for $13.20
(that's 40% off the already discounted price of $22)  Holla!
Jeans:  Forever 21 ($7.80)  <---- that is not a typo.  Buy some.  Now.
Booties:  Kmart (currently on sale for $25)

I'm no math whiz, but based on my calculations, this whole outfit ran me about $48 dollars.  It's a perfect example of how it is possible to be on-trend without going broke.

Does bargain hunting stress you out?  Think this is all too much work?  Worried you may have undiagnosed Shopping Anxiety Disorder (SAD)?  Have you begun to sweat?  Do you swear that's a hive emerging on your left forearm?  Take a deep breath and hire me as your personal shopper to do all the dirty work for you.  I can save you time and money for FREE. What's not to like about that?  Sign up here.

When I show you how to put an outfit together for under $50, it will be high fives all around.  You might even break out your happy dance, because not only will you look cute, but your kids might even get to go to college.  BONUS!

My Happy Dance.
Hey, no one ever said it was pretty...

Love ya like I love good deals,

xoxo

Maxi dresses are a staple in my summer wardrobe.

Here are two fab maxis (both from Kmart and both purchased on sale for under $20.)  Eat your heart out and be super jeal of my superb money-saving skills.

1.  Attention Women's Maxi Dress - Medallion
I cut off the belt loops and wore the belt at my natural waist instead of empire style.

 2.  Attention Women's Smocked Top Maxi Dress
I removed the neck strap to make it a strapless dress.

Oh that's right kids:  Kmart - and not just because I'm a personal shopper for Sears/Kmart/LandsEnd or because BOGO shoes are always a good idea, (they are) but when you combine cute shoes, BOGO and Kmart's already low prices, that's when the magic happens.

I know what you're thinking:  Kmart?  Really?  My grandma shops at Kmart.  Not very magical...unless house slippers really get your motor going...

Not so my friend.  Not.  So.

If you haven't been in Kmart in a while, you will be pleasantly surprised: this aint your grandma's Kmart...not by a long shot.

I mean, check out these two fantastic sandals that I scored at Kmart's BOGO sale yesterday:

I wanted to take pics of these on my feet, but I am in desperate need of a pedicure, so yeah... not.  happening.
(you're welcome)
1.  Route 66 Women's Slingback Thong Barbina - Orange $16.99

2.  Bongo Women's Ornamented Sandal Whisper - Blue $19.99

I know, I know.  Super cute.  Super affordable.  You think my shopping skills are stellar.  You wish I could be your personal stylist, teach you my ways, get you super cute shoes at super low prices...

Well, lady, wish no longer.

This is EXACTLY what I do as a personal shopper and I do it FOR FREE.  No strings.  No obligation to buy.  Just a free service to save you time and money.  And just when you think this deal can't get any better, when you sign up as my personal shopping client you get $5 in free rewards points, 90 days of free shipping, AND entry in a drawing for a $100 gift card.  Ri-dic-u-lous!

Elephants, Leopards, and Arm Parties... Oh My!

On Sunday, I participated in the 4th annual Smile for Hope to benefit Safe Journey, a local organization that supports women affected by domestic violence.  I had a table promoting my blogs (The Flower City Fashionista and Flower City Fashion and Beauty) and my new personal shopping business.

Here is what I wore:

Now a little multiple choice for your Wednesday morning:

Where is my orange elephant print button down from?
a.  Anthropologie
b.  Madewell
c.  GAP
d.  Kmart

If you answered d.  Kmart, you are correct (and probably a little shocked).  Since starting my personal shopping business, I've familiarized myself with Sears, Kmart, and Lands End brands and merchandise (probably a good idea since they write my paycheck).   Six months ago, I would have never walked into a Kmart for clothes; it just wasn't on my radar.  Now, it has become an affordable option for on-trend shoes, clothing, and accessories.  I loooove this Jaclyn Smith button down (did I just say that out loud?) and know I will get a lot of wear out of it.  It can be dressed up or down, used as a layering piece and be worn all seasons.  Love, love, love!

Here is how I styled it for Sunday's event:

Jaclyn Smith for Kmart shirt, Big City Bags and Jewelry necklace, Fahsye earrings
Old Navy belt, GAP sexy boyfriend jeans, Louis Vuitton bag,
Madewell sunglasses and bow ring,  estate chocolate diamond and gold ring
Bracelets:  yard sale, Stella and Dot, Old Navy, Groop Dealz,
Shashi (c/o POPSugar Must Have)

Michael Kors watch, Fahsye bracelets from Thailand,
Cornells Jewelers engagement ring and wedding band
Mossimo for Target Leopard platform pumps
My feet were KILLING me by the end of the day - but they sure did look cute...
Just in case there aren't enough pictures of me in this post, here are some more of the complete look with my Madewell sunnies on:

March 2013
JENNIFER SANZO
Some people are masters at personal marketing. Take, for instance, our Spotlight Shopper of the month Jennifer Sanzo. From gift card giveaways to sponsored posts on fellow bloggers' sites and face-to-face meet-up events, Jennifer knows how to make the most of her networking opportunities!

A fashion and beauty blogger and one-time sales director for a well-known brand of independent beauty consultants, this Personal Shopper has a track record for strategies that work. One of them is balancing.

"I plan on working with my local Kmart and Sears stores to do in-store personal shopping and styling events where I can recruit and work with clients face to face," she said. "I'll have my iPad handy to sign up new clients on the spot."

Intrigued? Here are a few more of Jennifer's top tips.

• Never stop networking. "You should always focus on how you are going to grow your business and grow your client base. Set goals. How many people will you talk to today? How many business cards will you hand out?"
• Encourage your clients to shop outside of their comfort zone. For example, she says, she'll reach out to clients with the product they asked about, and add a question: "Anything else I can help you with? Do you need anything for the house? The kids? Let me know!"
• Be yourself. "People are going to want to work with you if you come across real and genuine. Think about building your own business—because you are! A business with unlimited income potential."

DASH Miami

Is it any surprise that when I was in South Beach I had to check out DASH Miami?

Didn't think so...

As a personal shopper for Sears, I sell a lot of Kardashian Kollection items, so I thought it only right to do a little "market research" and check out their boutique.  I'm not going to lie, I wanted to see if they carried any items from their own line (currently sold at Sears) in their boutique.  I was pleasantly surprised to see that they did carry Kardashian Kollection in addition to many other labels.

All in all, I was impressed with the store.  I was expecting crazy-expensive prices, but was pleasantly surprised that most items were within reach.  Lucky for me, the entire store was 15% off, so I picked up a DV by Dolce Vita dress.
Posing with my new purchase outside the store.
A week later wearing my DV by Dolce Vita dress from DASH in St. Augustine
I kept my styling simple, pairing it with my Lucky wedges and Louis Vuitton pouchette.
In the lobby of the Casa Monica Hotel...
It was a little chilly that night, so I threw on my faux leather Buffalo jacket.

Sorry the picture quality is so bad.  One of these days I should actually invest in a real camera.  This husband with my iphone crap isn't really cutting it.

How do you like my purchase?  Have you ever been to DASH Miami?  What did you think?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

xoxo
