Feeling like Myself

You know when you find the perfect piece of clothing that just screams you?  You put it on and just feel like yourself.  That's how I feel about this western print swing coat I found at Forever 21.

If I were going to emulate a certain style aesthetic it would be to take the feel of this outfit and multiply it by my entire wardrobe.  It feels comfortable and authentic, on-trend without being too trendy, and just the right combination of boho-hipster meets girl-next-door.  I'm obsessed.  And now I want all of this to keep the party rolling.

Blazer a New Trail

I'm not a blazer girl.  I have girlfriends with closets full of them, but I'd much rather just throw on my moto jacket.  However, in an effort to look a little more profesh at Lucky FABB, I bought myself my first (in a loooong time) blazer at Forever 21.  While I didn't end up wearing at the conference, I did pull it out last week for a Girl's Night Out Event at Cornell's Jewellers. 

Here is how I styled it (apologies for the crappy photos):

The cropped pants, lace shell, leopard heels, and studded bag keep this look from being too conservative, but I can't say that I'll be hopping on the blazer band wagon anytime soon.  It still feels a little too "buttoned up" for my personal taste.  One blazer in my closet is plenty.  I'll stick with my boho-glam, hippy-chic, artsy-girl clothes a little while longer.

Vest Obsessed

It's official:  I'm obsessed with my green army vest from Forever 21.

I've worn it super casual with leggings, a long sleeve tee, and chuck taylors:

Cobalt, Bordeaux, and Gray

Two for Tuesday: Polka Dots and Animal Spots

Think you can pair animal prints with polka dots and not look like the crazy cat lady?

I'm about to tell you that you can.

I say, rock those polka dots and animal spots.  I also say thank God for Hilary Rushford and #stylemeoctober.  How did I ever get dressed all by myself?

Friday Fashion Tip: Go Shopping

That's right.

You heard me.

Go shopping.

Go shopping and buy yourself a motorcycle jacket.  Go faux (or as the cool kids call it: VEGAN leather) and instantly update your fall wardrobe for $150 or less.  I actually just got a really cute burgundy one at Forever 21 for $25.  They have a really great selections for under $50 - check them out (after you finish reading this post of course...)

Foxy Lady

Wish you had an endless shopping budget?  Dreaming of the day you can update your wardrobe each season without a care in the world, try the latest trends without looking at price tags, and rock your spanking-new clothes like a boss?

Me too!

As nice as all of that would be, rest assured:  you don't have to spend a million bucks to look like a million bucks.  Now, it does requires some hunting and a keen eye, but you can update your wardrobe without breaking the bank if you know how to "go cheap" without looking cheap.

Take this outfit for example:

I'm no math whiz, but based on my calculations, this whole outfit ran me about $48 dollars.  It's a perfect example of how it is possible to be on-trend without going broke.
