Made in America Monday: KOKOON

Have you heard about KOKOON?  (Me either until just recently - I can't believe I had no idea about this amazing company!  Thank God USA Love List is there to keep me informed about all the best brands that are made in the USA!)

KOKOON is a "boutique without borders;" a modern, private pop-up boutique, that brings their contemporary clothing line to women via private appointments and in-home trunk shows.  Think:  a high end boutique coming to you, not a tupperware party, or worse, a makeup lady trying to recruit you to sell lipstick!  (Come on, you KNOW what I'm talking about!)  KOKOON stands by the principles of  No Presentations, No Speeches, No Recruiting Tactics, No Multi-Level Marketing - just bringing the [made in the USA] boutique to you.

Owner and Designer Laine Sou Weinberg says, “I thought a traveling, private boutique could be an amazing shopping experience if it was done properly. I know what makes me uncomfortable with home trunk shows and I assumed other women felt the same. So, we took the cringe factor out of ‘home parties’ and developed a concept that we and everyone associated with us could be proud of.”

Want to hear some great news?  KOKOON's Twice Yearly Online Sale and Clearance event is going on right now!   You don't need to put on makeup or dust your living room for this party!  There are literally hundreds of limited edition and one-of-a-kind women’s items that are proudly designed and manufactured in the U.S.A.  available to you at 30% to 90% off retail prices.  Ah-mazing!  You can check out the sale now here.

Facebook :: Twitter :: Pinterest
Want some more good news?  I'm teaming up with USA Love List to giveaway a $100 KOKOON gift card!  Contest runs until August 1 and you can enter here:

PS:
About KOKOON founder Laine Sou Weinberg:

Laine Sou Weinberg started KOKOON in 1987 when her then-boyfriend-now-husband, Richard Weinberg, took her first sample line on a cross country road trip and returned with her first retail store orders. Soon after, the fledgling company landed their first major chain store order. That led to many years of successful retail and catalog relationships which included Nordstrom, Bloomies by Mail, Dayton Hudson, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, Fred Segal, White House Black Market, and over 1400 boutiques.

Made in America Monday - Stephanie Dawn Review and Giveaway

Afternoon lovelies!

Time for another installment of "Made in America Monday!"

I am so excited to share this brand with all of you!  If you are like me and use Vera Bradley travel bags and accessories, but secretly hate that they are made in China. This is the post for you.  If you want quilted travel gear in bright colors and versatile, functional styles that doesn't look like a cheap knock off, let me introduce you to Stephanie Dawn -fresh patterns, great styles, high quality, and made in the USA!  Woot!  Woot!

I was thrilled when they asked me to review and give away one of their flat iron/curling iron covers as part of my "Made in America Monday" series.  I travel often, and I HATE having to wait for my curling iron to cool before I can pack it safely.  With this heat-resistant carrier, there is no reason to wait forever, just wrap it up and you are good to go.  And since it is soft-sided, it doesn't take up any extra space in your luggage.  Love it!  I'll definitely be bringing it with me on my trip to NYC on Saturday!

Here is mine "in use"
Of course now I'm dying for the x-large tote in this pattern (kaleidescope)...
and a bazillion other travel accessories to match.  Oh, and another one for my flat iron...

Want to get your hands on one?  It just may be your lucky day!

Love their turtle logo!

This style is the company’s signature product and is available in a multitude of colors and sizing for the entire family.   On the golf course or off, it doesn't get more classic than this wardrobe staple.  Enter below for your chance to win one Bellwether360 polo, in a men’s, women’s or children’s size, in a color of your choice. Who's Ready for the Weekend?

After what has proved to be an emotionally-trying week comes to a close, I think we could all use a little R&R and are welcoming the weekend with open arms.

Just wanted to tie up some lose ends around here before I send you all on your way to enjoying some QT with the ones you love best.

Weekly updates:

1.  My giveaway for an adorable hot pink wrap bracelet from local Brockport, NY boutique BeBe Mills ends at midnight tonight.  Be sure to enter here.

2.  I'm hosting an online Stella and Dot party - with a free shipping flash sale going on today and tomorrow - I want to buy the entire collection and am sure you will too.  You can party with me here.

3.  This Sunday, I'll be attending the 4th annual Smile for Hope as a vendor promoting this little bloggity blog o'mine and my personal shopping business.  Exclusive coupons and giveaways will be happening - you don't want to miss this.  Plus all the proceeds go to benefit Safe Journey, a non-residential resource and support center for women and children rebuilding their lives after domestic abuse and violence.

4.  Fifty Writers on Fifty Shades of Grey has made Amazon's Best Selling Gothic and Romantic Literary Criticism List.  (You KNOW you're a dork when this is exciting ha!)

5.  I need to decide what I am wearing to my friend's wedding on Block Island in June.  I think I have it narrowed down to these three gowns from Rent the Runway.  Which one?  Help.  Me.  Choose.

That's all for now - only a few more hours til the weekend kiddos!  Hang in there!

Two for Tuesday

Since I officially live in the House of Sickness (hubs had stomach flu last week, Colt's sick with a fever today and Coop has a bad cold while teething...) we're going to make this a quick one (or two).

Two for Tuesday:

1.  Check here to see if you won a free two week dress rental from Lendperk.  I'm officially signing up for a subscription today.  $20/month for a new dress to wear is just too good to pass up.
Modeling the Taylor Pink Bubble Dress from Lendperk and hair and makeup by Shear Ego Salon and Spa.
2.  Thank God every day that you don't live here:
What I saw when I looked out my bedroom window this morning.  Blech.
And if you do live here, well, book a vacation to somewhere warm!

Be back with actual content tomorrow (I hope!)

xoxo

Made in America Monday

Hey, remember when I used to post EVERY Monday for my "Made in America Monday" series?

Neither do I.

Oh and I do know that today is Thursday.  I'm not that far gone... yet.

I also know that I already posted today.  Don't worry, I'm still in possession of the few marbles I have left.  Think of this bonus post as an early Easter gift to you.  #yourewelcome

What I have to share was just too good to pass up.

We all know how much I love USA Love List, so when I read this post about Venley (amazingly priced men's and women's clothing that is made in Los Angeles), I had to share it with you.  I mean, we are talking discounts on already great prices AND a giveaway with 20 winners, it would be completely selfish of me to not pay it forward.

So here's the scoop:

Go here, to get the skinny on Venley's #occupyyourcloset twitter giveaway.

Use offer code "USALoveList" to save 35% (that is not a typo) at www.wearvenley.com

Know that I am buying this (at 35% off) as soon as I am done with this post.

And last, but certainly not least:  Wear American, Buy American, and Occupy Your Closet.

Have a great Easter weekend kiddos!

Hope the bunny brings you some sweet treats!

Stella and Dot Giveaway

Woot! Woot!

I am a big fan of Stella and Dot jewelry.  If money were no object, I'd buy the entire catalog.  True.  Story.  I'm also a big fan of giving away free stuff to my readers and supporting my fellow Apraxia warrior mamas.  Let's think of this as the proverbial two birds with one stone effect.

I "met"  Christine last summer when we "shared" an apartment for summer SPEAK with Nancy Kaufman.  When I say "met" I mean chatted online and when I say "shared" I mean she moved into the aparentment the day we moved out and I left her some TP and dishsoap.  Same.  Difference.  I am so grateful that the internet/social media/blogging has allowed me to "meet" so many other parents who are on this Apraxia journey with me.  I've made "friends" that I am know will last a lifetime and Christine is surely one of them.

But, enough of the all that lovey dovey stuff, let's get to the jewelry shall we?

Fantastic.

So the lovely Christine Roeske is giving away one of my personal favorites:   the gilded arrow bracelet (retail $39):

I have this bracelet and absolutely love it.  It looks adorable flying solo (see what I did there?) or hanging out with some friends.  Here is how I love to wear mine:

Arm Party from left to right: Groop Dealz, Balla Bling, Stella and Dot

Made in America Monday - ME!

You know who was made in America?  Me

I realize this is a stretch, but just roll with it.  Okay?  Great!

After a busy weekend traveling to NJ for this little guy's first birthday:

I don't have a post prepared.

I know, I know.  Bad blogger.

I'll have a great American-made product line to introduce you to next week though.  Scouts honor.  Tomorrow, we've got a hippo birthday recap on the agenda and this morning I just have some news about me.  You can hardly contain your excitement, can you?

Just a few quick things to share:

1.  I'm now a personal shopper for Sears, Kmart, and Lands End.  The service is 100% free for you.  Sears pays me.  And you can win a $25 gift card for signing up to be my client here.  Enter the giveaway here.

2.  I'm nominated for Circle of Moms Top 25 Fashion and Beauty Moms for 2013!  Right now I'm ranked 84 - there are three days left to vote and I would really appreciate it if you took the time to vote for me!  Click the button below or on my sidebar to vote.

3.  It's Martin Luther King Day - let's keep dreaming his big dreams:

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."  Martin Luther King Jr., I Have a Dream, 1963.

And remember that "The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." — Martin Luther King

Want Me to Be Your Personal Shopper?

Ever wish I could be your personal shopper?

Well, you’re in luck.

I’m now a Personal Shopper for Sears, Kmart, and Lands End.

I would love for you to be my client!

How it works is simple: once you sign up as my client,  every time you use your Shop Your Way Rewards Card I make commission and you earn valuable points.  I’ve literally gotten hundreds of dollars in free stuff from this program. (You can read about my love for Shop Your Way here. Note: this was written BEFORE I was even a personal shopper).   So you run into Kmart for diapers? Cha-ching. Get a washing machine at Sears? Making bank. Cute sweater from Lands End? Rolling. In. The. Dough.

Here’s the best part though (other than making me millions and you getting free stuff)... As your personal shopper you can contact me to help you with any shopping or home/auto services under the SHC umbrella. Need shoes to wear to your sisters wedding? Done! Price compare flat screen tvs? I’m on it. New vacuum? In the bag. Want to throw out everything in your closet? Let’s go shopping! I’ll tell if you those pants make your butt look big...I promise!  The list is virtually endless - and you get these services for FREE. I help you shop and Sears pays me. I’m thinking this is a win - win how about you?

Signing up is easy but I have noticed one glitch in the process. After step two, the button you click says “I’m done” when there is still one more step left. Oops!  You still need to click the top box on the next screen to accept the personal shopping terms and conditions.

So let’s so this, shall we?

Go to: http://ps.shopyourway.com/personal-shoppers/jennifersanzo.invitation

Here is the 3 step sign up process in explicit detail:

1. Click link above

2. Click [start here] button

3. Sign up as a shop your way member

4. Sign up as a shop your way REWARDS member so you can earn points. If you already have a Rewards account, you can provide your membership info by clicking the checkbox at the top of the form.

5. Click [I’m Done] NOTE: You are NOT DONE WITH THE PERSONAL SHOPPER MEMBERSHIP SIGN IN PROCESS

6. To become a client of mine, accept the terms and conditions by clicking first box, leave second box blank

7. Click [FINISH]

8. You will get a confirmation email and so will I.

Need a little nudge?

How does a $25 gift card sound?  Good?  Great!  Because I'm giving one away.

Made in America Mondays ~ Acoustic Denim Giveaway

Let's talk denim today shall we?  I just found out about this fabulous new made in the USA brand called Acoustic Denim.

Here's a little bit about the company:

Acoustic Denim is all about American made denim. In fact, all of our products are made right in the heart of Los Angeles, California. Our vision is to produce American products that highlight the most current trends in fashion. The company leaders are veterans with 30 years of experience, and we believe in a hands on approach to quality control.

The name Acoustic was chosen, because it reflects the company’s ideals. Acoustic is raw, original, without influence, and more importantly, it’s about natural outcome from hard work. The mission at Acoustic is just that, to bring in all abilities in order to achieve a beautiful outcome in the products. Acoustic Denim’s emphasis is in the originality of American made denim for customers who appreciate American fashion.

I typically have a hard time finding jeans.  I'm 5'9 (long legs) and curvy (junk in the trunk).  Usually if I can get pants to fit my butt/thighs they are swimming around my waist.  And if I do find a pair to fit my mid section they tend to be too short.  Ah, the old waiting-for-the-flood effect.  Not.  Cute.  Thank God riding boots are in - I can tuck my too short jeans into them and no one has to know a thing!  ;)

However, my two fabulous pairs of Acoustic denim fit like a glove without a visit to the tailor.  Hallelujah!  They are even long enough to wear with heels.  Shut.  Up.  These jeans fit great, are high quality, and made in the USA.  What's not to love?

Oh, almost forgot to tell you the best part!  This brand is only available at few select boutiques right  now, but Acoustic Denim is giving a pair away to one lucky Flower City Fashionista reader!  You can be one of the first of your friends to own what is sure to be one of the most popular brands of denim in the USA.  If you win, you will have your choice of the two styles that I am modeling below.  (Let's keep in mind that I use the term "modeling" loosely.  I have about three poses and my husband takes pictures of me in our living room with my i-phone...)

Pair # 1 High-Waisted Dark Wash (Size 31):

Pair #2 Raspberry Railroad Stripe (Size 30)

And now for the giveaway!  You will win your choice of either the raspberry railroad stripe or the high-waisted dark wash.  Sorry, but US residents only.  Available in sizes 25-31.

Best of luck lovelies!

I Can't Paint My Own Nails

It's true.

I can't.

I'm pretty sure I have an undiagnosed fine motor issue.  It would explain why I always sucked at art, why I currently have craft anxiety, and why I can't paint my own nails.

I mean, I'm thirty years old.  I should be able to cut in a straight line, draw simple items, or slap a little nail polish on for that matter.  Can't do it.  Any of it.

Which is why I was thrilled when OMG Nail Strips contacted me and asked me to try their line of nail polish strips and nail foils.  Finally do-it-yourself nails for the artistically challenged.

Nail Polish Strips in "Cheetah."

I'm obsessed with these nail polish strips.  I tried cheetah and it looks adorable, even on my little nubs. Applying these babies couldn't be any easier.  If you can peel and stick a sticker than you can do this.  Peel, stick, push down along the end of your nail and rip off the excess.  The end.  It took me less than five minutes to do this people:

I love leopard.
I guess what they say is true:
"You can take the girl out of Jersey, but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl."
This is my attempt at the "Blogger Nail Polish Pose"
I look part orangutan don't I?

Now the nail foils need to actually be cut, so while they looked cute, I (being the spaz that I am) had a hard time cutting them to fit.  Granted I can't really cut anything so I'm not blaming the product.  I'm pretty sure if you have 3rd grade level artistic capabilities and reasonable intelligence, you should be able to apply these no problem.

Me and scissors just don't mix.
And this photo is upside down.
Clearly me and cameras don't mix either.
End Result:  cute and festive (Christmas Lights)
And the gorilla hand pose returns...

So what have we learned today?

Even I can apply OMG Nail Strips Nail Polish strips, and I'm sure 99% of you can apply the foils.  These are a great value at  $4.29 - way cheaper than you can get comparable products at the drug store and boatloads cheaper than the nail salon.  Did I mention that they offer free shipping on all orders over $20?   They do.

For value, easy application, and an adorable end result,  I give OMG Nail Strips two gorilla orangutan thumbs up.

And since I love you all so much, I am giving away two sets of Nail Polish Strips to one lucky reader.

The winner will receive both the floral and zebra patterns.  Want to enter?  It's easy.  Simply follow this blog with GFC and comment below that you do.  Want an extra entry?  Tweet about the giveaway and tell me about it in a comment below.  To lazy to write your own tweet?  Copy and paste this:  "@jennysanzo is giving away @omgnailstrips on her blog" and then link to this post.  You're welcome.

Deadline to enter is Saturday December 15th.  US residents only.

Best of luck chickadees!

xoxo
