Elephants, Leopards, and Arm Parties... Oh My!

On Sunday, I participated in the 4th annual Smile for Hope to benefit Safe Journey, a local organization that supports women affected by domestic violence.  I had a table promoting my blogs (The Flower City Fashionista and Flower City Fashion and Beauty) and my new personal shopping business.

Here is what I wore:

Now a little multiple choice for your Wednesday morning:

Where is my orange elephant print button down from?
a.  Anthropologie
b.  Madewell
c.  GAP
d.  Kmart

If you answered d.  Kmart, you are correct (and probably a little shocked).  Since starting my personal shopping business, I've familiarized myself with Sears, Kmart, and Lands End brands and merchandise (probably a good idea since they write my paycheck).   Six months ago, I would have never walked into a Kmart for clothes; it just wasn't on my radar.  Now, it has become an affordable option for on-trend shoes, clothing, and accessories.  I loooove this Jaclyn Smith button down (did I just say that out loud?) and know I will get a lot of wear out of it.  It can be dressed up or down, used as a layering piece and be worn all seasons.  Love, love, love!

Here is how I styled it for Sunday's event:

Jaclyn Smith for Kmart shirt, Big City Bags and Jewelry necklace, Fahsye earrings
Old Navy belt, GAP sexy boyfriend jeans, Louis Vuitton bag,
Madewell sunglasses and bow ring,  estate chocolate diamond and gold ring
Bracelets:  yard sale, Stella and Dot, Old Navy, Groop Dealz,
Shashi (c/o POPSugar Must Have)

Michael Kors watch, Fahsye bracelets from Thailand,
Cornells Jewelers engagement ring and wedding band
Mossimo for Target Leopard platform pumps
My feet were KILLING me by the end of the day - but they sure did look cute...
Just in case there aren't enough pictures of me in this post, here are some more of the complete look with my Madewell sunnies on:

So, as promised, here is Cooper's modeling debut:

**All photos taken by Fon Sakulsurarat at Kurt Brownell Studio.
Ties available at Fahsye.**

I know I'm his mother, but don't you just want to squeeze him?  It's the chubby cheekers.  Love this little meatball!

Smile kids, tomorrow is Friday! I'll be smiling EXTRA BIG because I'm leaving at 7am for MEXICO!

Try not to hate me and my super model self, super model baby, and free all expenses paid vacations... I know it's hard... but try ;)

I'm a Super Model

Okay, well not quite...

BUUUUUUT....

On Monday I teamed up with Sarah Griffith of Simply Sarah to model for Fahsye's next ad campaign! We had so much fun!  Sarah and I hit it off instantly!  Fon (photographer and owner of Fahsye) was a joy to work with and Kurt Brownell's studio was fantastic.

I can definitely get used to this whole modeling thing!   Need a fashion blogger model?  I'm your girl. Feel free to pay me in shoes ;)

Here are some of my favorite pictures from the shoot:

**All photos taken by Fon Sakulsurarat at Kurt Brownell Studio.
All accessories available at Fahsye.**

Not only did I get to experience life in front of the camera, but Cooper made his modeling debut as well... only unlike his mommy, he posed topless.

And so you have something to look forward to, I'll be posting those pics tomorrow.

Smile,  you're half way to the weekend.  :)

Exciting Advertising Opportunity

Attention Rochester business owners and local designers:

As my readership grows, I am being contacted by more and more brands for advertising on my blog. (I just partnered with Vera Bradley and Starbucks). As exciting as that is, I really want the majority of advertising to be local, as supporting small businesses was one of my main reasons for starting this blog.

In order to attract and promote Rochester businesses, I'm offering a local advertising special for September.

One year of advertising (300x250 medium rectangle - this is the size of ads currently on my blog) $100 for the YEAR.  Your ad can be updated quarterly and will appear on both The Flower City Fashionista and Flower City Fashion blogs.

Sample ads:
Vera Bradley Designs, Inc.

Starbucks

NORDSTROM - Shop new Fall handbags

Let me know asap if you are interested or if you have any questions. I only have 7 spaces available at this price and the offer expires Sept 30th.

First come first served.

Please email me at jennifersanzo@yahoo.com for details and to reserve your spot.

And thank you to Fahsye, By CeeCee, and TresChic Fashions for already hopping on board.

I can't even begin to express how much I value your continued support.

On Turning 30, Memorial Day, and Fallen Heroes

Turning 30 was anticlimactic.  I still feel like I'm 14 (aside from the bad back and that whole being married with children thing).  Besides, isn't 30 the new 20 anyway!?!

And speaking of 20, my twenties were pretty damn good.  I met the love of my life at the ripe old age of 21, graduated from college and went on to earn my Masters.  I bought a house, got married, and moved to Rochester.  I gave birth to the two most amazing little boys on the planet.  And I think I finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up!  (Maybe!)

Thirty might have been scary if I was at a different place in my life, but I can't help but feel like I have so much to look forward to and this is only the beginning.

My 30th birthday celebration began the weekend prior in a limousine and ended Saturday night at Thirsty's in Pittsford, where I may or may not have met my first serial killer (but that's another story for another day).  All in all, I had back to back amazing weekends, celebrating with family and friends.  What more could a girl ask for?

Besides a new Michael Kors watch of course:

Present from the Hubs via Cornell's

Birthday outfit:

In the shade.
Mossimo for Target shoes and shades, Artwark necklace, Michael Kors watch, anthropologie dress and bracelet,
Fahsye ring, Stacey Kay Collection earrings
Fixing the 'do
I need a new pose.  And a new driveway apparently...
Accessories Closeup.
OPI Are We There Yet? Polish

In the end, I'm well aware that I am a very lucky girl and blessed in more ways that I ever could have dreamed.  So glad that you all are along for the ride!

I realize this should be two posts, but do to residual back issues, my birthday post didn't go up as scheduled, so let's just change gears, shall we?

Happy Memorial Day everybody!  I hope you all spent the weekend celebrating with loved ones, barbecuing out back, taking in a parade, running through a sprinkler, or all of the above.  And to all those serving and who have served - thank you for your sacrifice.  My prayers go out to all those families who have lost loved ones fighting for our great nation.   Let's all take a moment to remember that our freedom isn't free.  God bless you and God bless the USA!

Remembering our heroes at the Memorial Day parade in Fairport.

xoxo
