PS- Leaving today for NYC - Lucky FABB here I come!  Let's just say I didn't under pack - by the size of my suitcase you'd think I was spending a month in Europe, not three days in New York... oops!

That Time I Wore Silver Pants ~ A Special Edition of Made in America Monday

No, not this time:

This time:
I'd be lying if I said I saw these metallic silver skinny jeans and instantly fell in love.  Actually, I didn't give them a second glance.  I picked out the same jeans in black for a girlfriend to try on and went about my merry way.  Thankfully, Miss Kiley (owner of Kouture) handed me a pair, told me they were REVERSIBLE, on sale for $40!!!!, and insisted I try them on.  I'm so glad I did.  They fit PERFECTLY and are just far enough outside my comfort zone to be fashionably fun.

What are these magic, reversible jeans you ask?  Well, (sadly for you) Kouture is currently sold out, buuuuut, they are BLEULAB, retail for $225 and are proudly made in the USA.  I'm obsessed, if they weren't sold out I would buy them in every color.  Love, love, love!

More on this look:
Madewell Sunnies on My Head
Groop Dealz Necklace
Top:  Forever 21
Jeans:  BLEULAB Detour Leggings in French Chalk with Silver Coating
Left:  Balla Bling, yard sale find, Stella and Dot, Madwell ring, estate piece
Right:  Michael Kors, Stella and Dot, Cornells
J.Crew Clutch
BCBG wedges via TJ Maxx
Stella and Dot earrings
Are you having a case of the Mondays?  Try wearing something a little outside your comfort zone this week; remember, fashion should be FUN!  Take a lesson from the Tin Man and throw some metallic into the mix, you might just surprise yourself.

Two for Tuesday: One Top Two Looks

I am loving this shear Converse top that I got at Target this spring.  Here are two ways I've worn it.

1.  With boyfriend jeans and wedges:

Wavy hair, don't care.
That's my cool kid/tough girl face.  It needs work.
2.  With mint skinnies and wedges.

Ballerina bun.  Dirty hair, don't care.
Hey look, it's me standing pigeon toed...something different for your Tuesday...
Hope your week is off to a fabulous start,

xoxo

PS-  Sometimes I randomly break out into song int he middle of a shoot.  It's fine...

Day to Evening

I love using accessories to change the look of an outfit.  Without them a striped tee and jeans is nothing special, but when you add the right accessories you can really transform a look.  Take this Old Navy tee and GAP boyfriend jeans:

For daytime I paired them with a Joe Boxer neon orange striped scarf, Route 66 sandals, Madewell sunnies, and gold and neon jewelry.

For evening, I popped on some Calvin Klein coral suede heels, a JCREW glitter clutch, some statement bracelets, and a necklace.

The end result is two distinct looks, using basic pieces from my wardrobe.  My rule of thumb:  when in doubt, accessorize!  ;)

What are your favorite pieces to dress up and down?

Wannabe Pinup Girl

I've always loved vintage and vintage-inspired clothing and I've been dying to wear new retro cherry dress from Anthropologie.  Good thing the hubs took me out for a nice birthday dinner sans kiddos!  I even had my hair styled in 1940s curls for the occasion.

Here is how it all came together:

Hair:  Jordan at Beau Monde Salon and Spa in Victor NY
Kenneth Cole sunnies
Hi There from Karen Walker Cereja Dress via Anthropologie
GAP clutch
Nine West shoes
Anthropologie bracelet, Francesca's earrings,  and Michael Kors watch

What do you think?  Loving the bombshell look?  Or too over-the-top?

Ripped Jeans as Evening Wear? Just Add Glitter.

You can get the details of my fabulous Saturday spent enjoying the best in Rochester fashion, beauty, and nightlife over at Flower City Fashion and Beauty.  Here, we're going to talk about the important stuff:  like what I'm wearing and how to dress up a boyfriend jean and t-shirt with evening accessories. ;)

I needed an outfit that would transition from salon time, to front row seats at a fashion show, to a VIP after party at one of the chicest spots in Rochester.  Not an easy task.

 Here is what I wore:

Old Navy tee, Gap sexy boyfriend jeans, Madewell sunnies.
Hair, makeup, and gel mani c/o Allora Salon and Spa in Victor, NY.

You take away my jewelry, throw my hair in a pony, and slap on some flip flops and this look is about as casual as it gets, but paired with the right accessories, a great pair of ripped boyfriend jeans can take you from day to night like it's nobody's business.

Exhibit A - The Bag:  J.Crew Glitter Clutch

Exhibit B - The Jewels and Nails
Bracelets:  Jewelry by Lindsay, thrifted, J.Crew
Rings:  Estate chocolate diamonds, Madewell
What can I say?  A perfect gel mani in a look-at-me, bold shade can really pull a look together.
Michael Kors Watch
Bracelets:  Groop Dealz, Stella and Dot, BallaBling
Exhibit C - The Shoes:  Calvin Klein Coral Suede and Cork Heels

You can take a super casual outfit (boyfriend jeans and tee) to the next level by pairing on-trend evening accessories.  Add some bling, an evening bag, and a pair of killer heels, and you just took your look from day to night.  (And kept things super-comfy to boot).  Win-win.  When in doubt, add some glitter.  It seems to work for Ke$ha...

What's your go-to look to take you from day to evening?

Faux Sho

See what I did there?  "Faux Sho" instead of "Fo Sho" as in:

Why is that so funny?

Anywho, today we're going to be talking about faux leather.  Why?  Because it looks like leather (which we all know makes you look super cool) at a fraction of the price.   And as an added bonus you didn't have to kill any animals to look cute.  So, it saves money and lives - I call that fashion perfection.

Here are my two favorite faux leather pieces that I plan on wearing to death:

Exhibit A:  Faux Leather Motorcycle Jacket
Buffalo jacket, JCrew necklace, Gap tee, Paige denim, Francescas bag, Madewell sunnies, Franco Sarto booties

Exhibit B:  Faux Leather Leggings
Shop Peppermint earrings, F21 top, Chicnova leggings (under $20 and fantastic),
Michael Kors watch,  Nine West shoes
Now let's have a moment of silence for the cute little critters who became my suede booties and black leather heels.  Oops.  At least they can rest in peace knowing they died in the name of fashion.

How do you feel about faux leather?  Love it?  Hate it?  Don't really care?

xoxo
