Central Park

As promised, here are the details on the outfit I wore in the city on Friday.  What a perfect fall day in Central Park!

Let's go from top to bottom, shall we?

I am wearing my favorite beanie from Forever 21, Mossimo for Target sunglasses, Kenneth Cole hoop earrings, Ann Taylor cashmere scarf, faux leather jacket by Buffalo, H&M sweater, Old Navy bag, a.n.a jeans and you guessed it, my Fabianelli riding boots from Marshalls.

And now for some action shots...

You love me ;)

That's all for now kids.  Time to get some online Christmas shopping done.

What about you?  Snagging any Cyber Monday deals?  Do share!

Throwback Thursday ~ A Classic Never Dies

Here is the Lakeland Regional High School class of 2000 yearbook photo:

Here is a blurry close up of yours truly from above photo.  Bad eyebrows.  Blondish hair.  Mouth open laughing.  Abercrombie vest.

Here is a picture I took of myself today at Powers Farm Market in the very same Abercrombie down vest.

Yes, I am still wearing the vest I wore in my senior class photo.  The turtle neck has been traded for a plaid button down; the acid wash boot cuts for dark wash skinnies.  My Doc Martens are no longer a wardrobe staple - my riding boots are.   I haven't dyed my hair in ten years and my poor over-plucked brows have found solace in the hands of Ryan at Brow Diva.   Things change, but yet they stay the same.  Twelve years later, I'm still smiling and I'm still wearing my Abercrombie vest.

What can I say?  A classic never dies.

What are you still wearing from high school?  Anything?  Dish below.

Corduroy and Jane Austen

As promised, here is the skinny on what I wore for my Sweet Pickle family photo shoot.

I almost wore this corduroy dress, and am so glad I opted for a more casual, every day look instead.  This is me.  This is what I look like 98% of the time.  Skinnies, riding boots, comfy knits - it's what you'll find me in at Wegmans or dropping Colt off at preschool.  (My hair just probably won't look this good.)  Ha!
Had to wear my Jane Austen t-shirt from Brookish.
I love it almost as much as I love Mr. Darcy.
I love this necklace.
It's called the Mother's Love necklace and is by
local Rochester jewelry designer Sarah Khaled of Artwark.
Each one is custom made.
I get compliments on mine ALL the time.
So much so, that I've started carrying around her business card.
Hey, it's  much better than me saying:
"It's artwark - like artwork, but with an "a."
Brookish tee, Sparrow cardigan via anthropologie,
Pilcro corduroy skinnies via anthropologie,
Fabianelli riding boots via Marshalls
(the most wonderful, comfortable boots I have every owned)
I got these earrings at a yard sale about ten years ago for $0.25.
If I ever lose them it would be completely tragic.
I feel like they are a part of me now.
These bracelets were yard sale finds too.  One.  Dollar.
I'm also wearing my go-to Michael Kors watch.
Did I mention I love these boots?
Because I do.
A lot.
I think this one is my favorite.
It's now my profile photo for most of my social media accounts.
I don't know if its the black and white, my expression,
or the fact that my nose looks smaller from this angle,
but this picture just makes me feel, well, pretty.
Like one of those shots that my grandkids will look at and say:
"This is grandma when she was young, wasn't she pretty?"

So I now I need some help from you.  Which one should be my new blog button?  (Once I figure out how to make a blog button...)  Decisions, decisions...

Love you like a fat kid loves cake,

xoxo

Mustard Lovin'

I'm finding that I'm sort of obsessed with the color mustard this fall.  It can be a tricky shade for me to pull off since I'm olive complected, so I need to be careful if I'm going to wear it close to my face.  Pants, tights, and accessories, however, are free game!  I'm really loving my new a.n.a. mustard skinnies!  They add a fun pop of color, plus they tell me I'm pretty and give me a pep talk every time I put them on.

No, really:
Nothing like finding a powerful affirmation in your pants.

Here is how I wore them over the weekend:

a.n.a jeans via JC Penney, Fabianelli boots via Marshalls, Old Navy bag and
chambray blouse,  anthropologie old man sweater,
Francesca's Collection bow earrings
Isn't the butterfly garden at Seneca Park Zoo so pretty?
Butterfly necklace:  Flea Market Girl via Peppermint
Wishbone necklace: c/o Artwalk
Just in case you needed another picture of me standing here and smiling...

By the way, have you seen my new Balla Bling cross bracelet?  I am in love with it and wear it every day.  My balla and Michael Kors have become fast friends.  Aren't they so cute together?

A match made in heaven

How do you feel about mustard?  Love it?  Hate it?  Just sorta meh?  What color are you excited to wear this fall?

Time to Join My Party

Seriously though, I'm about to join my own party, just because I can. (Plus I want to make sure it works).

If you haven't heard, I'm hosting a "Blogger with Balls" link up party and blog hop. It's my first one and no one has signed up yet so I'm starting to get a complex.  After crying into my hot apple cider, I did what any other rational person would do:  write my own outfit post and link up with myself.

So, without further ado... my balls:

Ball Close Up
Looking down...
Looking down...again...
Hello, tree.
When it doubt, grab the jacket
Baby Got Back

I'm wearing my J.Crew bubble necklace (via ebay), pleather jacket via Lord &Taylor, H&M sweater, a.n.a. jeans via JCPenney, Kenneth Cole hoop earrings via Blue,  and Fabianelli boots via Marshalls.

I looooove this jacket.  Today was the first time I wore it.  I snagged it at 40% at Lord and Taylor's anniversary sale last weekend - after seeing it one of my fabulous readers and forcing her divulge her shopping secrets.  I don't know about you, but I love sharing a good deal (especially when I'm on the receiving end).  Don't you?  Now we just have to make sure we don't wear it on the same day... that would just be awkward...

Hope you had a great weekend!

It's Friday!

Don't get me wrong, I love my kiddos, but when it's Fashion Week of Rochester and I could be sitting in a VIP seat at the fashion show at Culver Road Armory and hobknobbing with Rochester's finest at the after party at TRATA, let's just say it makes it tough to sit at my kitchen table in my jammies because I couldn't find a babysitter.  How's that for a run-on sentence?  You know what, I don't even care.

Since I'm not out being fabulous but facebooking instead, I figured I might as well do the outfit post I've been putting off since Sunday.  Hey, I've been working on my Fall Trend Watch for Rochester A-List all week.  Make sure you check it out.

Well without further ado, some fall fashion from yours truly.  #OOTDLS (Outfit of the Day Last Sunday) featuring top and sweater from Anthropologie, Fabianelli boots, a.n.a. jeans via JCPenney, J.CREW necklace via ebay, Michael Kors watch and earrings from a boutique in St. Augustine whose name is escaping me.  Enjoy!

This is my idea of "getting creative" with my hair.
I tied it in a knot and secured it with two bobby pins.
I'm not sure why I look like a linebacker.
My shoulders are 6 ft wide I swear.
Those are Fabianelli boots from Marshall's.
By far my best purchase in years - soft Italian leather...
They are like wearing slippers! Love, love, love!
This is me telling my husband to get over here
and take my picture already because the baby is crying.
I'm mostly a nice wife I swear.
And the awkward photo shoot begins...
This is me trying something different...
Like the head tilt and hand on hip pose...
Oh wait...
Maybe I should just stand here...
With my hands in my pockets...
In crappy lighting...
Outside my garage...

Maybe I should just start taking pictures of my clothes on hangers... or laid out neatly on my bed...

Something to think about.

In the meantime, I'll give you something to think about:  what's your favorite thing about fall?  Are you psyched for layering weather?  I'm psyched for hot apple cider, riding boots, and pumpkin EVERYTHING.

Okay kids, I'm peacing out - have family photos in the morning and have no idea what any of us are wearing... funny considering what I do... #irony

Nigh night lovelies!

xoxo
