Made in America Monday: Alex and Ani

Better to be late to the party than never show up, right?  Alex and Ani is all the rage; people are talking it about it literally everywhere I go.

This Saturday, I FINALLY checked out Alex and Ani in the Culver Road Armory.  It was love at first sight.  I love, love, LOVE their bangles!  I was thrilled to learn they are made in America and even more excited to hear about their Charity by Design collection that gives back to various charitable organizations.  What a fantastic company!  Not only is there jewelry just the right mix of edge and elegance, but the company's core values are admirable.  This is the type of jewelry I want to wear:  american-made, community-oriented, and fashion-forward.

I could have easily bought twenty bracelets, but settled on these three:
The card accompanying this bracelet read:
"Like a puzzle piece, every individual is shaped differently with unique talents, perspectives, and beliefs.
Once we share these gifts with each other, positivity will spread and hope will endure.
Embrace the energy of the Piece of the Puzzle Charm and realize that we are all interwoven parts of a greater masterpiece."

This puzzle piece is worn with love and pride for my niece Erin and cousin Jeremy.*
*20% of sales go to the National Autism Association.
It was meant to be, look how great they fit with my arm party of choice.  (I wear these babies almost every day).

Have you hopped on the Alex and Ani band wagon yet?  What's your favorite piece from their collection?

Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

xoxo

Jenny

Two for Tuesday: Madewell Cutoffs

One of my favorite items in my summer wardrobe is a pair of Madewell acid wash cutoffs.  They are distressed, just lose enough, and can be worn with anything.

Here are two examples of how I styled mine this week:

1.  Daytime Shopping
Dorfman Pacific Co. fedora, Madwell sunnies, F21 top, Target bag, Madewell cutoffs.
Doesn't get much easier than this:  no makeup, no jewelry, no shower?  No problem.
2.  Beachside Dinner

Madewell sunnies (as headband), Shop Peppermint earrings, TJMaxx top,
JCrew belt, Beau ring, a million bracelets, Madewell cutoffs.
What's your favorite wear-with-anything summer staple?

Two for Tuesday: It's all About the Shoes

Shoes can make or break an outfit.  They can also take a look from casual to dressy faster than you can say NORDSTROM Anniversary Sale.

Take this look for example:

1.  Daytime Flats

2.  Evening Wedges

Which to do prefer comfy flats or sky high heels?

xoxo

PS- Outfit details:  Madewell sunnies, Arizona dress via JCPenney, Gap clutch, a million bracelets, Old Navy ring, Lands End Canvas flats, BCBG wedges.

You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling...

Make that all feeling...

And I'm not talking about romance.

I'm talking about my poor toes.

You see, last night I wore these:

You're looking at five beautiful inches of leopard-shrouded torture.
I definitely still have some numbness going on.  Last night I was relieved to be experiencing loss of feeling as opposed to writhing in agony, but now more than 12 hours later, I'm starting to worry about permanent nerve damage.  Oh well.  As least I looked cute... and if I lose all feeling in my toes, just think of all the cute shoes I'll be able to squeeze them into now without any pain!  See, there is always a silver lining!

Here's the rest of the look:

Forever 21 top, Lands End Canvas pants, Target shoes
I like the back of this shirt more than the front...
Added some chocolate diamonds and bling..
Louis V. came out to play.
I'm a firm believer than you can never wear too many bracelets.
Also: the higher the heel, the closer to God.
Words to live by.
Write them down, frame 'em, needle point them on a pillow, whatever you need to do.
I know I'm not the only one out there who sacrifices comfort for style.  If you're a fashionista who isn't afraid to pour yourself into some spanx or teeter around in some platforms share some love below.  Us crazies need to stick together.

Here's to hoping I regain feeling in all my appendages and that all you crazy kids have a fantastic weekend.

xoxo

Boutique Crushin'

I'm in love...

With a store.

It's not the first time I've written about this little gem.  (Read previous gush here)

But, I am officially obsessed with Red Pineapple boutique in St. Augustine, Florida.

If I ever open up my own shop, I want it to look exactly like this:

Don't you love how she uses various glass bottles to display necklaces?

Dying to know what I bought?

This little number: (and two gold bangles - what?  a girl can NEVER have too many bracelets!)

Can't wait to wear it this summer!
What's your favorite little shop?

Giveaway Time!

How exciting!  My first official giveaway!  A definite addition to my blog's baby book.  (Don't worry I don't actually have a baby book for my blog that was just a lame joke).  I digress.  Anywho, on to the good stuff.

Sara from Big City Bags and Jewelry has been gracious enough to donate these lovely bracelets and adorable owl ring for The Flower City Fashionista's first ever giveaway.  Drumroll please.

Ooooooh....aaaaaahhhh.  Love it right?  Did I mention that all of her jewelry is under $20 and all of her bags sell for less than $35!?  I'll be hosting an open house June 19th from 5-9pm at my home, so if you're local stop on by to see and shop her entire collection.  If you're not local you can still enter the giveaway - I'll ship your prize!

Here is how to enter the drawing:
