Made in America Monday: Second Base

How many articles of clothing are hanging in your closet unworn simply because they are too sheer, too low cut, or you don't have the right bra for them?  Probably tons.

Well, I have found the solution for all of your problems, ok not all of them, but at least most of your boobie-related ones...

I'd like to introduce you do the camisole motherload otherwise known as Second Base.

Let's get real here, if you name your camisole company Second Base, I'm going to like you right from the get-go.  My twisted sense of humor can't get enough of that kind of snark.  Couple that humor with a fantastic product that makes me smack myself in the forehead and say "why didn't I think of that?" and then make that product right here in the USA, and you've got yourself a winner, winner chicken dinner type of situation.

Second Base is your one-stop shop for any camisole you might need.  They come in a variety of lengths, colors, and necklines to work with any outfit.   The demi is perfect for coverage of cleavage and bra and is great for layering without the bulk.  The midi styles are ideal to wear under a sheer blouse and the longer maxis camis are a game changer when it comes to leggings (think: no show camel toe).

Here's how it works:

Easy.  Peasy.

I couldn't wait to try one.  Second Base sent me the Janie in sky blue and I instantly fell in love.  It adds just the right amount of coverage and a fun pop of color to this low-cut cowl neck sweater from H&M:

Sizing tip:  I wear a 32D and the small fits perfectly.
Love it as much as I do?  Dying to get your hand on one?  Today just might be your lucky day.  I'm teaming up with Second Base and USA Love List for a fantastic giveaway!  Woot!  Woot!

Made in America Monday: Bumble and Bumble

I have a confession:  Up until this spring I used cheap shampoo.  I'm not talking Pantene cheap, I'm talking VO5 cheap.  Granted, I've been known to drop $20 on hairspray, but that's another story for another day.

It wasn't until my stylist explained that my greasy hair (that I always complain about) was being exacerbated by my crappy shampoo, that I decided to buck up for the good stuff.  Apparently the cheap stuff strips your hair and then your oil glands work overtime to get the moisture back.  Who knew?!

Since I tend to go big or go home, I didn't leave the salon with one high-end bottle of shampoo and conditioner;  I purchased two.  One set for when I wear my hair wavy, and another for the days I actually blow dry it straight (those are RARE).

On the days I just let my hair air dry (read:  every.  single.  day.) I use Bumble and Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo, Surf Creme Rinse Conditioner, and Surf Spray.

Result = Beachy Waves

When I want a sleek, styled look, I use Bumble and Bumble Gentle Shampoo and Super Rich Conditioner.

Result:  Smooth Locks
Last week, I was thrilled to discovered that my beloved (expensive) shampoo was made in the USA.  For some reason, it makes me feel better to be bucking up for the good stuff since it's American-made.  Plus, my bad hair days are fewer and farther between and the grease factor has dissipated immensely.  Win-Win.

Way to go Bumble and Bumble, keep up the good work.

What is your favorite made in the USA hair product?  I'd love to know!

xoxo

Made in America Monday: Alex and Ani

Better to be late to the party than never show up, right?  Alex and Ani is all the rage; people are talking it about it literally everywhere I go.

This Saturday, I FINALLY checked out Alex and Ani in the Culver Road Armory.  It was love at first sight.  I love, love, LOVE their bangles!  I was thrilled to learn they are made in America and even more excited to hear about their Charity by Design collection that gives back to various charitable organizations.  What a fantastic company!  Not only is there jewelry just the right mix of edge and elegance, but the company's core values are admirable.  This is the type of jewelry I want to wear:  american-made, community-oriented, and fashion-forward.

I could have easily bought twenty bracelets, but settled on these three:
The card accompanying this bracelet read:
"Like a puzzle piece, every individual is shaped differently with unique talents, perspectives, and beliefs.
Once we share these gifts with each other, positivity will spread and hope will endure.
Embrace the energy of the Piece of the Puzzle Charm and realize that we are all interwoven parts of a greater masterpiece."

This puzzle piece is worn with love and pride for my niece Erin and cousin Jeremy.*
*20% of sales go to the National Autism Association.
It was meant to be, look how great they fit with my arm party of choice.  (I wear these babies almost every day).

Have you hopped on the Alex and Ani band wagon yet?  What's your favorite piece from their collection?

Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

xoxo

Jenny

PS- It's not too late to win some jewelry from last week's featured artist,  Jewelry by Artwark.  Contest ends midnight tomorrow.  Enter here.
