Two for Tuesday: It's all About the Shoes

Shoes can make or break an outfit.  They can also take a look from casual to dressy faster than you can say NORDSTROM Anniversary Sale.

Take this look for example:

1.  Daytime Flats

2.  Evening Wedges

Which to do prefer comfy flats or sky high heels?

xoxo

Jenny

PS- Outfit details:  Madewell sunnies, Arizona dress via JCPenney, Gap clutch, a million bracelets, Old Navy ring, Lands End Canvas flats, BCBG wedges.

Want Easy Summer Style?

Slap on a sundress!

It's one piece, therefore a no-brainer.

It's cool.  (Feel the breeze baby!)

And it can be dressed up or down:  think flip flops/flats vs. wedges/heels.

Take exhibit A: (actually it's the only exhibit - but just go with it)

Note:  If you follow me on instagram, you'll know that this outfit is SOOOOO 2 1/2 weeks ago.  Deal.

Styling is pretty much non existent here...

Dress + sunnies + wedges + jewelry = easy summer style.

I didn't even do my hair!  Although I should thank the Bumble and Bumble Surf Collection for my beachy waves - well, them and the actual beach - that whole salty sea air definitely helps the cause...

When I run out of poses, I just start looking random places - like a crack in the boardwalk...

Or no where in particular...

Ah blogger problems.

The details:  Dress is Old Navy.  Wedges from Target.  Madewell sunnies.  Miscellaneous jewelry.

What about you?  What's your idea of easy, summer style?

If you don't check back here tomorrow (which you totally should - I'll be wearing something a tad ridiculous) have a great 4th of July weekend and be safe!

xoxo

Two for Tuesday: One Top Two Looks

I am loving this shear Converse top that I got at Target this spring.  Here are two ways I've worn it.

1.  With boyfriend jeans and wedges:

Wavy hair, don't care.
That's my cool kid/tough girl face.  It needs work.
2.  With mint skinnies and wedges.

Ballerina bun.  Dirty hair, don't care.
Hey look, it's me standing pigeon toed...something different for your Tuesday...
Hope your week is off to a fabulous start,

xoxo

Jenny

PS-  Sometimes I randomly break out into song int he middle of a shoot.  It's fine...

Romper Love

I've been a fan of the romper for some time now.  Unfortunately as a tall girl, they never seemed to fit.  They would always"ride up" if you catch my drift.  Let's just say camel toe is never a good look.  Ever.

I'm sure you can imagine my excitement when I tried on this baby at Anthropologie and it actually fit.

Happy dance!

It was the perfect thing to wear to my launch party for the Rochester Blogger Network last night.  I needed something cool, comfortable, and fun: check, check, check.

I opted for a loser fit than the model pictured above and here is how I styled it:

It was a hot one, so the pony tail was a must!
I slapped on some bracelets, rings, and a great pair of silver earrings.
Loved how these Target wedges looked with it!
My Madewell sunnies added to the retro feel.
A simple envelope clutch from Francesca's held all my essentials:
phone, business cards, hot pink YSL lipstick etc.
Bold lips added a pop of color.
And I was ret to go!
I loved how functional and comfortable this romper was.  It is definitely going to be a wardrobe staple in this fashionista's closet all summer long!

What about you?  What's your favorite thing to wear when the weather starts to heat up?

Do Not

I repeat:  do not go into Target shoe department if you are on any sort of a budget.

I, unsuspectedly entered the shoe department exactly one week ago today in search of a pair of chuck taylors.  While I did not find the Converse sneakers of my dreams, what I did find was wedges... three pairs of wedges.  Yes, I bought three pairs of shoes.  Like I'm made of money.  Like I buy three pairs of shoes in one shopping trip every day of my life.  Like that money shouldn't have been spent on groceries instead.

But, at the end of the day, I'm only human.  How could I resist?  I mean, look at them!

Ignore my month-old pedicure and focus on the overall picture...

Want to know what the kicker is?  I can't even wear the damn shoes because it still snows every freaking day up here in the arctic tundra.

But one day, I know the sun will come out again, I'll put on an ankle pant, a cropped skinny, or a flirty sundress and my new wedges and I will smile knowing that I might be hungry, but I sure do look cute.

It's called priorities, people.

And this is called sharing bad habits or as I like to call it...friendship:

You're welcome.  I'm sorry.

Peace out kiddos.

Have a great weekend!

Doesn't Feel Good to Pay Less?

Yeah, yeah, yeah I stole their slogan, but I'm using it to promote their products so I don't think they will mind. Have you been to Payless lately? The store moved near the side entrance of Eastview (by Eddie Bauer) and they just got in all their spring/summer styles. Now, usually by the time I get around to checking them out, the only shoes left in my size look like othapedics worthy of geriatrics or cheap stripper heels worthy of well, cheap strippers. Not so this last trip!

Found two adorable pairs of wedges for:  wait for it, wait for it.... $20 each!!!!

Christian Siriano for Payless Patent T-Strap, Woven Straw Wedge
American Eagle Espadrille Wedge

Eat your heart out.  I'm going to be 6'2 in them, but boy will my feet look cute!  What do you think?  Will you be rocking the wedge trend this summer?  What do you plan to wear them with?

A Girl Can Never Have Too Many Shoes

True Story.

I did a cursory assessment of my shoe collection and eyeballed about 75 pairs.  And you know what?  I want more.  I could never have enough shoes.

Here are eight styles I'm wanting and you'll be seeing (and hopefully wearing) this fall:

1.  Platform Loafers
Nine West.  Love these.
Would look adorable with wide leg jeans or paired with a dress/skirt and dark tights or socks.
2.  Ankle Wedges
Suede.  J.Crew.  Yes, please.
3.  Stacked Heel Boots
Tory Burch.  The leather is like butter.  Delicious.
Now, who wants to give me $550?  Anybody?  Anybody?
4.  Pointy Ankle Boots
These Christian Louboutins make me salivate.
Sadly instead of buying these, I'll be replacing my oven.  Damn.
5.  Flat Ankle Boots
Love these from Zara (probably because they look like a mini version of my favorite pair of riding boots).
Either way they are adorable and under $100.
6.  Slingback Bow Pumps
Just bought these Mootsies Tootsies slingbacks for $39.95 at DSW to wear to my friend's wedding next weekend.
7.  Flat Knee High Boots
This type of boot is my go-to shoe for fall.  I fell in love with these Steve Maddens at DSW.
Once I find some cute maternity skinny jeans, they are mine.
8.  Pointy Flats
Love these by Elizabeth and James.  The pointy toe elongates the leg and looks adorable with anything.

I could go on and on but I think eight is enough.  Wasn't that a tv show?   I digress.
What about you?  What shoes are you dying to add to your collection this fall?
