Vacation

I'm taking one.

This space is going to be vacant for the next week as I soak in sunshine, family time, and get some much-needed R&R (or chase my kids up and down the beach all day with a bottle of sunscreen... either way...)

Try not to miss me too much.

If you do start to get fashionista withdrawal (hey it happens to the best of us) - you can follow me on Instagram - I'll be sure to continue documenting every nanosecond of my life.  Have no fear.

And try not to be too jealous that I'll be waking up to this every morning:

I mean, you still have a chance to win a $100 gift card...life's not all bad...

Hope you're reveling in the last few weeks of summer.

Smell a flower, toast a s'more, catch a firefly, and spend some QT with the ones you love best.

Love you like I love beach vacations...

Miss you already,

xoxo

Want Easy Summer Style?

Slap on a sundress!

It's one piece, therefore a no-brainer.

It's cool.  (Feel the breeze baby!)

And it can be dressed up or down:  think flip flops/flats vs. wedges/heels.

Take exhibit A: (actually it's the only exhibit - but just go with it)

Note:  If you follow me on instagram, you'll know that this outfit is SOOOOO 2 1/2 weeks ago.  Deal.

Styling is pretty much non existent here...

Dress + sunnies + wedges + jewelry = easy summer style.

I didn't even do my hair!  Although I should thank the Bumble and Bumble Surf Collection for my beachy waves - well, them and the actual beach - that whole salty sea air definitely helps the cause...

When I run out of poses, I just start looking random places - like a crack in the boardwalk...

Or no where in particular...

Ah blogger problems.

The details:  Dress is Old Navy.  Wedges from Target.  Madewell sunnies.  Miscellaneous jewelry.

What about you?  What's your idea of easy, summer style?

If you don't check back here tomorrow (which you totally should - I'll be wearing something a tad ridiculous) have a great 4th of July weekend and be safe!

xoxo

Back to Back Fab

Life has been so crazy lately!  I feel like I need to play catch up here at le blog to let you guys know what's been going on.

I had two pretty great weekends in a row.

May 4th I hopped on the train to NYC for one of my best high school friend's bachelorette parties.

Obviously this meant I needed a blow out...

Enjoying a deep conditioning treatment at Wayne Agassi Salon in Brooklyn, while my friends went to an exercise class...suckers!
The Finished Product
Brooklyn does a nice blow out!

Love these girls!

Subway/Penn Station
It wouldn't be right to NOT get a slice of NYC pizza - definitely one of the things I miss the most.
This past weekend I rocked my best twenties fashion at Gatsby.
I think this is a good look for me...
Clearly I need to go to a Roaring Twenties theme party...
Somebody make that happen... ok?
I loved it.
One of my favorite novels paired with one of my favorite directors.
What's not to love?
In between I had a yard sale and saw Les Miserables...

Life has been good:  busy, but good.

This week proved challenging as well: my personal shopping business is busier than ever, I had two sick kids, a salon visit, Rochester A-List event, Dado fashion show, planned the first ever Rochester Blogger Network event, and still need to pack for next week.  Ah you know what they say - "eat when you're old, sleep when you're dead..."  Let's just hope this schedule doesn't kill me!  Ha!

Off to Michigan next week for a return visit to Kaufman Children's Center for some intense therapy for my boys.  Not sure if I'll be able to sneak any blog time in or not... just going to have to play it by ear.  I do have a fab DIY beauty guest post lined up and will try to pop in at least once... stay tuned!

xoxo

Doppelgangers

I get told I look like someone all the time.  I guess I have one of those faces.

Sometimes it's celebrities like Alicia Silverstone (I was blonde in high school) or Mariska Hargitay.

Other times it's just that I look like someone's sister, or babysitter, neighbor etc.

If you've known me for any length of time, you'd know that I'm not exactly a big fan of my nose.  Never have been.  I don't think I'm hideous or anything, but lets be honest:  I've got a schnoz.  Yet, somehow, despite years of staring at it, smooshing it, and imagining what I would look like with a nose job, I NEVER EVER noticed the uncanny resemblance of my nose to the nose that comes attached to those funny glasses.

Scoops and I took the self portrait below and I instagrammed it (obviously) with a black and white filter.  A day or two later, I'm looking at it and it hits me like a freight train: "holy crap my nose looks like it came with my sunglasses!"

This is pretty funny stuff people.  For your viewing pleasure:  my new unintended doppelganger:

Who do you think I look like?

Who is your doppelganger?

And on a side note, bangs or no bangs?

Love ya...smooches!
