Speak Up!

Thanks to the Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America (CASANA), today is the very FIRST official Apraxia Awareness Day and will be recognized as such by the United States Congress! Woo hoo!  


CASANA is the only national nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to children affected by apraxia of speech and their families. They serve both the parent and professional community. Their website - Apraxia-KIDS - is the largest collection of information on apraxia anywhere and was truly a lifesaver for me when Colten was first diagnosed.

First Day of Preschool

Colten's first day of preschool was yesterday.  I tried to get him in a cute little preppy outfit, but at three, he is already too cool to get dressed up for the first day of school.  He ended up in his favorite hot dog t-shirt, jeans, and a hoodie.  I can't get over how grown up he looked.  It's like having a three foot tall teenager.

We're also too cool to have our picture taken.

The crew!  I am aware that I look like a complete dork in this picture.  Durrrr!

And since inquiring minds like to know, I'm wearing my favorite a.n.a skinny jeans from JCPenney, nine west flats, H&M sweater, Silpada necklace, Forever 21 sunglasses and Artwark earrings.
